I'm not surprised; it's just still hard to stomach. They're so in-your-face about it. This should be illegal.

So how much did that endorsement cost?
Was it in a letter? ($10,000)
Was it heartfelt? ($20,000)
Was it with a smile? ($100,000)
What legislation was on his desk?
California State Pension Increase? ($50,000)
California, 8 hours max or overtime? ($100,000)
Put money BACK into the Pension Fund? (priceless)

If the rank and file had been given the opportunity to vote, it might have been a different story. The union is controlled by thugs, cronies, hacks and lackeys - OBVIOUSLY!

Despite the fact that due to the large deficit wages and hiring freezes have been the norm lately, state employees are "afraid" of Simon. This is the gossip going around; Vote Simon in and you will lose your job to to outsourcing. Of course, Davis has swollen the ranks of state employees before he got into this mess. That was to the tune of over 20,000 votes new hires.

Thanks for the info. In the Bay area, Davis skipped a fundraiser at the posh Spago's in Palo Alto. Like to think Freepers scared him off.

The whore cut a deal with CSEA leaders. What else is new?

But I have sympathy for the people in these unions who see their good $ support candidates and policies whcih are against their core beliefs. They all support Davis. Even the non-union state employees that have to pay into the union! They have been indoctrinated with the idea that Simon will fire them all.

There are something like 250,000 state employees. I guess it's not that big a deal. Just so unfair! I'm sick of it!

This is easy to add to all New Jersey threads. Cut out

Propaganda Crap alert:
CSEA Board backs Gray Davis for governor
Published August 27, 2002
CSEAs Board of Directors voted to endorse Gray Davis for a second term as governor.
Governor Gray Davis
Though voters may criticize Davis handling of any number of issues, state workers need to be absolutely clear on one thing: Davis positions on issues affecting state workers stand in sharp contrast to those of his opponent and his predecessor.
Where Bill Simon touts the benefits of privatization, Gray Davis has fought to protect public services. Where Pete Wilson was an avowed enemy of organized labor, Gray Davis on the issues that count has been a firm ally.
Last week Davis reaffirmed that commitment to CSEA at a meeting held with CSEA President Perry Kenny. Davis told Kenny that he values the contributions of state workers and pledged to do "everything I can to mitigate any potential negative impact that the budget crisis might have on jobs."
Davis agreed to fund benefit enhancements that CSEA has sought such as retiree vision care (beginning in 2005) and to form a committee to negotiate wages and benefits for supervisors neither of which existed previously.
In addition, Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) Director Marty Morgenstern assured CSEA that "we intend to fully utilize every mechanism possible to lessen the impact of any budget cuts on state employees resulting from the states severe economic situation."
As governor, Gray Davis, has signed more pro-worker legislation that his two predecessors combined. That is why CSEA stands behind Gov. Davis bid for a second term.
We encourage all members to do the same.
