I really did not care for W. He was a light weight (although compared to the Goron he came across like Gothe). But his performance in office has changed my mind. Maybe it is just the contrast with the Clintoon administration and the pleasure of seeing the adults in charge.

But yes, I think that G W Bush or at least his people are thinking many moves deep in both foreign and domestic politics. They COULD blow it, the best laid plans and all that, but so far I am impressed.
