Why should we cut taxes during wartime?

That would give the economy a shot in the arm and put taxes on the table again ... It would put taxes on the table again, but it wouldn't give the economy a shot in the arm noticeable from further away than a multi-millionaires nose hairs.

I think it's going to backfire.
Most Americans know what's going on, and why.
The best thing for the economy would be to eliminate the uncertainty and fear surrounding terrorism.

Well, this would be the absolute dumbest thing that the republicans could possibly do. The demons have no issue and you want to give them a slam dunk. "More tax cuts for the rich!"

'Al Gore gave what was promoted as a huge speech on the economy today. It bombed.'Boy howdy, did it ever. The wire stories are about him being too fat to wear his wedding ring. What an oaf....

I think we need to stick with Iraq and the War on Terrorism. This Torecelli thing has distracted the national media and we need to get the focus back on national defense, obstructionism in the Senate, traitorous foreign visits, and a homeland security bill. The Clinton economy is a no-winner for us.
This is no time to get distracted on economics or Toricelli's when we had Bush's winning strategy going so well. We need to get Byrd and Daschle back yelling on the tv.

Hope the pubbies hit them back. For getting the mess Clinot left behind, the stock scandals and 911 I am surprised things aren't worse. Dems keep talking down the econemy for political reasons. Blame them for panicing the public.Blame Jessie for ripping off his public. Blame all the dishonest dems.

Ask the RATS this: If the economy is such an interest why won't you decrease taxes, drop the "Death Tax", eliminate the "Marriage Tax", reduce Capital Gains Taxes to a flat 1%, and reduce Federal Spending by 25%. That, sure as hell, would fire up the economy because it gives the PEOPLE control over much more of THEIR money.
They have a seisure when posed with this question!

The best thing for the economy would be to eliminate the uncertainty and fear surrounding terrorism.Yes. The sooner W pulls the trigger on Iraq, the sooner the markets will rise. Nervous-nelly investors, coupled with the media's constant harping on the economy is serving to fuel a sel-fulfilling prophecy of doom and gloom.
The media needs to stop editorializing about the economy, and the Demos should let W pull the trigger on the Butcher.

What a day for Jesse to make a speech. AS IF any of his irrelevant ramblings would be newsworthy on a day when the President forces an Iraq resolution and the NJSC throws their lawbooks out the window. I take that back -- there is no day his ramblings would be newsworthy.

I did not see any coverage on Fox dinner hour, but I saw the other folks, some on the floor of the house or senate showing prepared graphs, etc, didn't have the sound up as I was on the phone doing business.
At this point, I think they know they have lost on the WOT, looking for the pocket books of the populace to over look thier discusting antics, ala NJ, McDurnit-Bonior and the support of both sides of the House and only one side suport from the Senate for President Bush on Sadam, off the front page.
We need to nail them, no Homeland Security, no budget, no votes on Sadam, Offense.... Just turn GWB loose, but time is a wastin'.
Ww will be back to Dickie G's mom being unable to live because she may not get her SS check.

Blame them for panicing the public.
How, may I ask, is the American Sheeple in a panic? Is it their record consumer spending? The overvalued stock market? The record amount of refinance transactions taking place? All the new cars they are buying? The low gold and silver prices? $1.35/gal gasoline?
I've got to hear this.
