They haven't done C-sections like that for 25 years. They have been doing "bikini" incisions for at least that long. I got a "bikini" incision for my oldest daughter's birth, 25 years ago.
Sorry, but my wife has had 3 midline (vertical cut) C-sections within the past SEVENTEEN years ('85, '87, & '96). Maybe it's because all of my children were delivered by osteopaths and not MDs (their favored method, perhaps).
The tummy pattern on the woman in the photo is simililar to my....er, ah, I've said WAY too much now.
