I'll try to find out the time. The Brookings Institute is a short walk away and I could show up outside with a sign and a LOCKBOX. If anyone has details, please let me know.

well, nobody can say that Bush hasn't given Gore lots of material for his speech.

Bush campaigned as standing for smaller government than the Democrats. But under Bush the federal budget in his 2'nd year is growing by 13.9%, the fastest growth in government since LBJ when we were paying for both the vietnam war and the great society. By comparison under clinton the share of the GDP that is federal government actually shrank very slightly.

The economy is going in the wrong direction under Bush. But Bush has got that triangulation thing going. His supporters believed his campaign promises, so there's no reason to keep them, he's convincing everyone how compassionate he is by spending the taxpayers' money just like a drunken sailor would spend his own money. Only one third of this increase in spending is due to homeland defense or security.

On top of that Mr. Compassionate last year made across-the-board real cuts from one year to the next of 5% in all medicaire payments to doctors and medical service providers. In Mr. Compassionate's third year he's now planning more deep cuts in Medicaire.

Something is terribly wrong about the way this man george bush is running domestic policies. In a sickening way it is very reminiscent of his father's regime.

Al,

Please keep up the good work. I used to be a staunch Republican, but seeing your speeches on CNN has changed my view of the world - for the better! I hope you keep up the good work, exposing the Republicans and Bush for what they are. All my friends agree - you were robbed in 2000 by a partisan supreme court, and, if in office, would have done a much better job with the economy and the response to 9/11. For what it's worth, I hope you run in '04, and continue to support your party before the upcoming elections, tirelessly campaigning all across the country.

Translation: Keep it up, sore loserman. Keep it up. You're the RNC's most potent advocate this year, but you're too dumb to realize it. All of America thinks you're a joke (except some sniveling sycophants in the press), and that rubs off on to whoever you support.

Precisely! The Libs have stuck their collective finger in the wind and determined that the Presidency in 2004 is out of reach, so Toon has thrown up Gore as a "straw man" candidate, so Hillary doesn't get drafted. Gore is too dim to figure out he's being used.

Why is everyone in the media broadcasting and publicizing the speeches this private citizen makes like they are his lap-dog, or something?

Will they do the same for my speeches? Like Gore, I'm a private US citizen with opinions about stuff. That seems to be enough.

Unless of course I'm missing something.... ;)

I see that you have a point.

What are we to do?

Should we elect Al Gore to the Highest Office?

Would that be brilliant?

We must use the cards that we are dealt.

Al Gore is just about the scariest person that I have ever seen that has actually had people vote for him to be the President of the USA!

Do you disagree with that?

no, i don't advocate voting for al gore. He's an environmental nut and a proven crook. I will continue to systematically criticize the Republicans and Bush though. at presidential level it is reasonable to vote for lesser of 2 evils. But I no longer go along with the idea of voting for incumbent republicans who are doing damage to america while in office. My congressman and my senator are republicans. I'm opposed to each of them because of specific things they've voted for in office that highly offend me. My motto is 'Throw The Bums Out'. I think we should vote against all incumbent legislators that offend us. For me that's republicans because that's who represents me. Our biggest mistake in politics as a people is to re-elect 95% of all incumbents. The way they behave it should be 30%. That's my view. I used to be a loyal republican. Not any more. It's not the democrats who convinced me of this new attitude, it's the republicans. If the politics inside the republican party were reagan's politics, then I'd be very loyal. But instead we have people dominating very strongly who are hostile to america. I don't like that. Too bad if you see it different. These problems with the republicans have been coming on for 15 years. It didn't happen overnight. I view the republicans as just as hostile to american interests on an overall basis as the democrats are.
