Maybe there is a bit of maintenance coming from "within".

Goose bumps, anyone...?

"People will say, gee, is it going to collapse and let the oil out?" Murphy said.

If it does that, clean up the oil, and leave the ship right where it is please...

Thought the same thing, very spiritual. Surprised that "they" have not figured out a way to preserve these type of things better. Thinking.... underwater glass bubble??

It's just the passage of time.

Technology probably will not catch up or compete with Ma Nature.

It's the remembrance that is meaningful, not necessarily the hull.

I will not forget my uncle's name that is on that marble wall...

Steel needs free oxygen as well as water to rust.

There's some oxygen dissolved in sea water, but if you leave something under water it rusts a lot slower than if you pull it up into the air.

If you swamp an outboard motor, you should submerge it in fresh water until you have a chance to take it apart and clean it. Otherwise, if it sits in the air for only a short while it turns into junk.

I had that heart-warming stomach-churning soul-wrenching wall experience only two other times. Punchbowl and looking down at the Arizona.

Heck, I thought this was a report about a medical checkup for the Governor of Arizona, Jane D. Hull.

Fooled me.
