Take it or leave it, UN. You've had your chance to lead. You didn't.
We will.

But Chirac resisted, telling Bush he opposed demanding Iraqi compliance and threatening Iraq with military force if it did not. Same planet, different worlds.

Kennedy, D-Mass., said unconditional U.N. inspections must be given time to work, and that a largely unilateral American war "could worsen, not lessen, the threat of terrorism" by swelling the ranks of al-Qaida sympathizers in the Muslim world. Yes, let's sit back and do nothing about those powers that want to destroy the United States...and hope that we don't make them mad at us. Maybe they won't pull another Sept 11.
What a friggin coward Kennedy is.

I believe the French and the Germans are up to their necks in aid to Iraq's military build up and don't want it brought to light.

Seven days to agree to full inspections, among other things. Even if Iraq says yes, which I doubt, it would take some time for the team to get in place and begin inspection raids. Probably even longer to find stuff or be shut down.
But Bush clearly is not going to accept this six month trial inspection thing, with weeks or months of negotiation beforehand, and THEN have to go back to the UN to say that Iraq isn't complying.

I am quite impressed with the way Blair snookered slick willie into crossing the pond to defend his buddy!!!!

In another jab at the Iraqi leader, the resolution would set aside assurances that U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan gave Saddam that his palaces would not be searched by inspectors. What bull! I hadn't heard this, and of course it's entirely unacceptable to Bush (as it should be to the Dims). Kofi Annan must believe the old saying that a man's home is his castle. In Saddam's case it is.
If the UN and Iraq agree only to have inspectors kick the sand and say "its clean", then it time for the US to say "Let's Roll".

Kennedy's dad was all for sitting back and letting the Nazis do their thing. Nothing's changed!

That's way more time than Iraq gave Kuwait.
