Maybe just maybe, this kid was kidnapped from somewhere else.

Well, they may not have been thinking she would be taken into protective custody once she was turned over unharmed. I'm betting the IT thought this would just go away. Perhaps this is coming out now, if it is true, because the REAL mother of this other child is getting nervous she won't get her back. Wild speculation, but it would make sense if the plan is not going as they expected.

Indeed, 4-yr-olds understand a great deal. At 4 yrs old, many gypsy children are already accomplished thieves, however.

It is likely that the beating we saw was the result of the four year old saying or doing something that was 'risky' to her 'family'. These people raise their children from early-on to abide by their codes of conduct. They are of a pack mentality.

They could find another four-yr-old to play the part. One who doesn't want the beating the other was given.

Any one of them, in a minute, to save the pack. You have to understand how these people are not like you and me.
