You could be right. Did that kid make a big fuss when she was taken away from her mommy by child welfare? Usually kids scream up a storm when they are taken away from mommy - especially if they see mommy crying.

Usually kids scream up a storm when they are taken away from mommy - especially if they see mommy crying. Maybe not kids who never had much attachment to 'mommy" in the first place.

Actually I remember seeing a TV real-life cop show, where a toddler was being carted off as her drunk druggie mother cried and screamed "Please, don't take my baby!" with high volume and drama. The child looked UTTERLY unconcerned and was focusing her attention on the nice social worker lady who was carrying her. Kinda convicted the mother right on the spot, as far as I was concerned.
