[history]
Erskine Bowles campaigns for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina as a populist, a man with a "personal discomfort with politics." Even as he squares off against Elizabeth Dole this fall, Mr. Bowles maintains he "is not a politician," and only runs for office due to a philanthropic impulse he realized after September 11. I couldn't find this, hope it isn't already posted. More ominous evidence of Bubba's continuing baleful influence on American politics.

Thank you for the post.
We need this information on North Carolina Senat election.
The airwaves are filled with negative ads for Erskine Bowels and according to the latest polls, it is beginning to erode Elizabeth Dole's comfortable lead.
There are the usual lies playing every few minutes.
Now we have Junior Johnson of Nascar fame running ad's for Bowles. AND--Junior Johnson will fit right in with the clintonites.
The local news this just reported that the Johnson ads had moved his numbers up.

Irksome Bowles is also said to be a Mob royer. (A "royer" is someone who goes to Raw School, passes the bar exam, and practices raw. At least according to Tom Brokaw.)

Nice post. I have always been annoyed by this guy's self promotion as some kind of pure-hearted public servant.
