This plan will never work as described in the article. Say I'm in the $72,000 bracket. My weekly salary is $1384, and 55% of that is $761. If I get 6 weeks off, the fund pays me $4569 for EVERY INSTANCE of leave.

Now, if I'm paying in only $70 per year, it will take me 65 YEARS to pay pack what I was paid for each 6-week leave.

I don't know about you, but I'm not planning to work for 65 years.

This is socialist voodoo economics at it's worst. I predict within 5 years we'll be paying $500 per year so our deadbeat neighbors can "take care of Granny".
