I don't agree with everything that Jim Robinson believes in, but we are not far apart. That is about all human nature allows. There are no carbon copies in life, in spite of the belief of some on this site. I would say to Jim, forget IMHO tags. Humility is a virtue, and I am sure that you use it sincerely, but your beliefs are strong. Please don't dilute them with modesty.

RINO is something else that I would urge posters to drop. I know it's cute, but so's "hold muh beer." If the republicans were short of a majority by ten members, just ten Republicans in name only would give them the majority.

We all joke and have fun here, and most certainly I do, but some of the flippant remarks about matters of great importance tend to trivialize the issues.

Putting the sop box away now.

Exactly: It's childish and irritating.

But is it worth it if you can't count on them in a pinch? I'm really weighing the options in my home district: to vote for a RINO who is actually a Democrat, or to "write in" and waste my vote.

My neighboring district has an even harder choice, a RINO who slipped on to the ticket and is opposed by a Democrat. The choice is electing a Democrat for the first time in this county's history, or electing a RINO who will never be there when his vote is needed. The jerk I'm referring to sits on my City Council and actually votes against his own motions after he has milked them for all their political worth.

It is really a dilemma. To answer my own question, I suppose the chairmanships are worth it -- so we just have to hold our noses and vote. Uggggh!

Yeah, just think how much better off we'd be if we had TEN Jim Jeffords! (/sarcasm)

Well, put it back and talk to us, you are making a lot of sense.

That statement merits another "Hear! Hear!" from me!

What good are ten Republicans you can't count on? I'd rather have Republicans that I know we can count on, rather than liberals with an "R" next to their name. A vote for a liberal is still a vote for a liberal, regardless of the letter next to their name.
