Wow! Half of the unemployed are in California! Isn't anybody worried about this? It scares me to death as California has been the engine that drive the US economy for the last twenty years.

We need a govenor that understands. This certainly isn't Davis. We need Simon to restore Califonia's economy. Pass this article to your friends.

This is a misconception. California is one of the slowest growing states in terms of Gross State Product and Employment. Much of the growth comes from states like Colo, Utah, AZ, Nev, Tex. Suprise, these are states with low taxes and regulation, basically minimal government intervention in the economy.

Gray Davis is apparently the invisible man: gone crazy, does what he wants to do, and seems to get away with it.

Well, he CAN do anything he wants. He still has the "emergency powers" he granted himself in January, 2001, and uses them routinely to break whatever laws might get in his way.

He recently used his "get out of jail free card" to violate a people's initiatiave, Prop. 2, which required the state to use gas tax money for roads. [He loaned the money to the general fund to make the defecit look smaller.]
