US Secretary of State Colin Powell said Washington would find ways to stop weapons inspectors going back to Iraq unless there was a new Security Council resolution on the issue. Hmmmm, Using what magic would we be able to do that? What if we warned inspectors that we could not guarantee their safety from things falling from the sky? If we gave them a deadline of Oct 16, 2002, one day after they arrived, they would not have to even unpack. If the UN does not enact new resolutions with strong teeth, we will probably have to act alone or with whatever countries want to be at the eventual dividing up table, when this chapter is finally ended.
