Uhh, presumably when the author talks about America, he means the US or its precursor colonies. Haiti was never part of "America" in this sense.

At Harper's Ferry, the vast majority of insurgents were white, not black. And every slave they tried to recuit ran the other way as fast as possible. HP is not a good example of black willingness to fight back against oppression.

This is actually quite disturbing because it is incitement to violence. This is akin to what the Islamists are hearing from their imams in their mosques.
