Every day throughout the year, Shriners Hospitals for Childen are providing some of the worlds best medical care in a family-centered environment totally free of charge.
With 22 Hospitals in the US, Canada and Mexico, kids under 18 are treated for orthopeadic problems, severe burns, and spinal cord injuries.
Using top-notch medical techniques, hospital staff focus attention on each childs overall physical and emotional well being.
This year, with a budget of $567 million, Shriners Hospitals will spend $1.55 million every 24 hours to pay for this expert medical care. Never in 79 years has a patient or an insurance company been billed for any of this treatment. That means since 1922 650,000 patients have been helped at a total cost of over $5.1 billion.
Another Masonic body (yes Shriners are Masons), is the Scottish Rite which includes the world class reknown hospital in Dallas for deformed children with an annual budget of $60 million also provides no charge services. The Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas began as a small polio hospital for children, and since the 20's has treated nearly 500,000 children. The Scottish Rite dyslexic centers around the US, are world class, and making a great contribution .

I spent a couple of hours today on the 'Bucket Brigade' collecting for the Shriners Hospitals, along with one of my sons, my daughter, a valued fellow employee, and a bunch of great people. It's great to be a Mason and great to be a Shriner.

My former assistant's daughter had
scoliosis of the spine and was able to get treatment through the Shriners. She was very thankful for the help she received from them.

the tinfoil brigade will be showing up on this thread soonI think you've got it right. Once it dawns on the loonies that the Shriners are Masons expect the same hate posts on Masonry that has flooded this forum for years.

In this 'new age'organizations like the Mason no longer are as important as they were once despite that fact that 14 Presidents of the US, and two more who tried in the last twenty years are Masons.
This country was founded by Masons.

Once it dawns on the loonies that the Shriners are MasonsI thought they were just old guys who drove tiny little cars in the 4th of July parade.

Sometime you may wish to post on some of the other charities which are also funded by masonic bodies, such as the Knight Templar eye foundation, Scottish Rite educational efforts, Chapter and Council charities and the many educational scholarships which are given by masonic entities.

Good, maybe one of these days, hopefully you will get the picture. Please remember the US News and World Reports article from 8/26 TO 9/2 Devil in a red fez - which painted Masons as devil worshipers being one of the great hoaxes of all time.
Poisened by the tinfoil and looney tune crowd, you have a closed mind, and that is sad.

Yeah, but they're only setting up the kiddies so they can sacrifice them to Satan on their bloodstained altars...oh, wait a minute, that's the Elks, isn't it? Sorry...
Seriously, I had a friend whose child was badly burned in a car wreck. It is difficult to describe the feeling of watching a child in intractable pain - I know how I felt visiting and I don't even want to think about how the mother felt...I, and she, will be forever grateful to the Shriners for the state-of-the-art treatment that the kid got, gratis.

She was very thankful for the help she received from themI too have scoliosis and spent 6 months in the old Shriners Hospital on 19th Ave in San Francisco in 1945. One of the great experiences of my life at the time. I was 12 when I went in.

BUMP for a worthy cause. The Shriners truly don't get the credit they deserve.
