Saw that last night; it was the most brutal beating I could imagine someone giving a child.
And I can hardly imagine the child surviving.

The woman was punching, not paddling, the child!

I watched it again -- I have a sucky connection now. The first hits you cannot see where they go -- the last ones are when she's sitting down and appear to go to the head.

Agree. Some of the blows look like they were delivered with a closed fist.

I saw a woman slap her (about) 18 month little one across the face while shopping in BJs in Delaware. The child was crying and the mother slapped her so hard I spoke up. My teenage son ( at the time) said " oh, oh you did it now" and with that this large maniac started yelling at me and called attention to herself. Another older couple came over and joined her (grandparents I guess) and I stood there listening to this horrible woman
unleash her tirade at me in a loud voice.
I took the heat off the child and figured the mother would be ranting about me for at least a day.
"Big as you are you should not be belting that baby" sure worked. I think about that poor baby now and again. There are some really bad and ugly parents out there. Bless the children.......they have no say
