When does congress get to the part about Whampoa-Hutchinson? (yeah, I know--never)
I do have a serious question, though. If we've got all this huge excess of fiberoptic, why are our phone, cable, and ISP prices so high?
Here's a coincidence. I just received this email and have no idea why I was selected to receive same:
We have been notified that Global Crossing, our long distance provider, has just experienced a cut in their long distance fiber optic cable. This is why our service is not working. It is not known when service will be restored. We apologize for any inconvenience. ---
