I so want to be at this one! I'll have to come pretty late, though. But costumes making a mockery of Barbra and signs with arrows that say "IDIOT LIBERAL ACTORS ENTER HERE" would be fun!
LOL!

I stopped by the Kodak Theatre this evening.

It is located right on the main tourist center of Hollywood - with LOTS of people!

As the centerpiece of the new Hollwood & Highland Center, the Kodak Theatre is directly across the street from Disney's El Capitan Theater, and just down Hollywood Boulevard from Mann's Chinese Theater, with its classic footprints in cement.
I talked to several security people, and they all said that we could protest ANYWHERE on the sidewalk - directly in front of the Theatre - where all the tourists are, as long as we do not go inside the building.

They said that the "stars" may decide to sneak in the back, though, through an underground parking structure.

From http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/3942738.htm:
SHE'S RETIRED ONLY FOR REPUBLICANS

Barbra Streisand, who gave her last live performance at New York's Madison Square Garden two years ago, has agreed to perform at a $500-a-plate Democratic fundraiser next month, Time magazine reports.

The two-time Oscar-winning actress and singer (and staunch Democrat) has often confessed that she suffers from severe stage fright and hates singing live. Still, Democrats hope the Sept. 29 fundraiser, to be held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, will raise as much as $4 million for their party.

Streisand, 60, is no stranger to stumping for the Democrats. As a friend of the Clinton administration, she supported Al Gore's 2000 bid for the presidency with an appearance at the Shrine Auditorium that raised $5 million. Barry Manilow also is expected to join Babs for the fundraiser.
