Ping This is sweet!
After the commission's vote, plumbers contributed $280,000 to Davis.
Davis' acceptance of the donations has fueled criticism that the governor runs an administration that forces special interest groups to contribute large amounts in order to influence policy.

But..but...I thought democrats were for the little guy, the fellow struggling to get a home.... The plastic pipe boys should immediately file a lawsuit against Governor Corrupt Clinton Davis, and publicly demand prosecution. The fact that the Sac Bee is carrying this story tells you that even liberals are getting sick of this kind of corruption.

Republicans this week asked state Attorney General Bill Lockyer to investigate Davis in 21 fund-raising instances, including the PEX controversy. Lockyer has agreed to review the cases but says he has not seen evidence that the governor has taken action in exchange for money.Everyone else sees it, why not Lockyer? Could be he's blinded by the donkey ... or culpable?

As someone who actually worked in the glamorous plumbing biz for a while (albeit in MD not Commiefornia), it is a straightforward issue in my opinion. Copper pipes are a luxury, not a necessity, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with plastic. A lot of plumbers prefer to work with copper for diverse reasons (not least that it allows a marvelous margin of error and a near infinite cash cow in the future because fixing copper piping is beyond most homeowners skills), but none are significant enough to outweigh the fact that plastic is cheap and easily replaced when busted.
Join a Union...where else can corporate welfare masquerade as environmental action and The People's Choice?
