It would be much nicer if science were fixed like religion, not changing even when shown that its claims were utterly contrary to reality.

The universe is collapsing, the universe is expanding, space is curved, space is flat, the ozone hole is growing, then it's shrinking, fat is bad for your, fat is good for you, drink 8 glasses of water, then drink no one knows how much water, then drink too much water and you deplete your electrolites and die, nothing travels faster than light, then something does, then it didn't exactly, save the whales, there's too many whales, Kinko the whale is saved, then he's not saved, beer is bad for you, wine is good, then wine is bad and beer is better . . . . Wine is bad, but a glass of red wine a day is good for your heart. Beer is bad, but it's healthier than red wine. Carbs are good, carbs are bad, but saturated fats are a disaster. Drink lots of orange juice, but it rots your teeth.
And this prisoner was given the gas chamber because the crime was committed before DNA was discovered.
Let's just eat chocolate and wait for it all to come crashing down.

Seems spot on to me. Born, Grow, Wither, Die and then repeat the process. THE CIRCLE of LIFE!

"You will just discontinue your existence." Oh, well - that's okay, then. I never expected my existence to be a continuous function.
OTOH, maybe there's existence on the other side of the discontinuity ;)

Don't get upset, just sit back, relax and see if his prediction comes true

escape to one of the surviving parts of the universe. Nashua, New Hampshire is unfortunately expected to be one of those few surviving pockets.

Damn global warming! No, no. Global warming is the solution,
not the problem. Hot air rises, right?
Well, the rising hot air will push the
universe back from collapsing around
the earth.
You're welcome.
