... a great success for the United Nations and Kofi Annan", adding that the development should now be used "as a chance for peace in the Middle East".

Oh boy, Germany is now frantic to let this last minute crawfish move avoid their taking responsibility for indirectly helping Saddam rearm his WMD programs... There had better be some apoliticos from the US on that team for it to have any credibility. (with me)

Germany should know what Iraq has, many of their people worked for Saddam and they sold them materials. I would not trust the krauts any more then the Frenchies.

Schroeder the socialist is trying desperately to rally his left wing in the coming election and overcome the harm to his campaign from the faltering economy. It has a rather unpleasant odor however, in the land of the late Fuhrer. Saddam's Baath Socialist party is modeled on German National Socialism, and German companies both constructed Saddam's fuhrerbunker 90 feet beneath Baghdad, designed to withstand surface nuclear explosions, and they have sold him much of what he uses in his programs of WMD. However, reports have it that Schroeder will immediately back off on his position if he wins the election. Probably so-German companies and unions don't want to be left out of the post Saddam boom in Iraq.

In an unprecedented move, Saddam has also offerred his own team of inspectors to assist the germans in their search for the evil WMD's.

My sentiments exactly. Why should the a-holes who sold them the stuff be allowed to search for it?

The German government is made up of two faced socialists that will do anything for a buck. Their business people would sell their grandmothers for prostitution if there were a few marks involved. Next to the French, the Germans rate at the top of the scum list.
