Meridian Medical gets Pentagon order - [antidotes to nerve agents]

NEW YORK (Dow Jones/AP) -- Meridian Medical Technologies Inc.'s shares rose Monday after the U.S. Department of Defense renewed a three-year contract for auto-injectors that provide soldiers with antidotes to nerve agents.

Shares of Meridian Medical, a Columbia, Md., medical technology company, closed Monday at $30.68, up $5.17, or 20 percent, on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

I never liked the thought of having to give myself a shot of antropein(sp?). The auto-injector needle looked large enough to suck spagetti through.

NO KIDDING MAN - I saw one of those "scale model" auto-injectors and thought I was going to FAINT! Holy Cow! No wonder they have you stick your leg. Wherever you stick that thing isn't going to work for at least a month.

At leasts it's not that square needle they use to suck out sperm samples with. At least that what the more advanced classes at basic told us. Didn't have to go through that particular terror. Anyway, if I am convulsing from nerve gas, you can stick me with the big needle and I won't get very mad.
