Ahhh, the lovely Ms. Katz, who, last year, had 187 'official proclamations'. That's what this woman DOES with her time, and with her staff, and with our tax dollars.

I hadn't heard anything about this until Lars Larson discussed it on KXL today (September 19) so had to come to Free Republic to see if it had been discussed--sorry I missed it four days ago, but I'm sure that this was something Katz' staff weren't too crazy to have hit the mainstream press.

KXL used to have two local deejays on in an afternoon show about three years ago (they left when Lars moved to the afternoon). One day they were discussing what kind of amusement rides might be at the Rose Festival that year, and one of them cracked, "In the House of Horrors they'll have a display of Vera Katz trying to eat saltwater taffy."

Now, that's a horrifying thought.
