Man in terror scare says woman is lying

NAPLES, Florida (CNN) -- The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

Even if they are innocent, they should know better than to act "suspicious".

If they do not stand behind this woman, nobody will EVER report anything they see again.

What reason would she have to make this stuff up? Why would she want the press hanging out in front of her house? It's preposterous.

BTW, the one thing I do not see on TV today is the press talking about ALL the mistakes they made. Practically every word they reported was a lie, and not one of them has said one word about it.

There's one thing about the students story that bothers me.
They say the woman was lying. They also say that they paid the tolls (they were in 2 cars) and that the woman in the toll booth was lying as well when she said they didn't pay. This means either they just happened to run into two very big liars in a matter of hours or they are the ones lying. Right?

I believe her too. It only took the hostility of one of the sisters of this trio to convince me of the purpose of the whole prank. It's just to set up the "cry wolf" scenario. Authorities will be afraid to investigate reports. The fear of racism, profiling, the cost to taxpayers, loonies making false reports, publicity seeking idiots will now all figure into any call received. Regardless...I will call given the same kind of circumstances. And by the way, I'm sick of seeing muslim-garbed individuals saying "trust me." on my television.

Well, I see nothing that would have benefited her in telling a lie; I believe her.

I still wonder why these men got their cars back, stopped at the next rest stop, gave a press interview, then left heading toward Miami, but then turned back WEST to go and stay with a man they "met at the rest stop" so they could "get some rest."

I believe the police are watching these guys.

I think they can do whatever they want now; I just heard that the school they were suppose to go to said find somewhere else to go. Good!

The men were pulled over at 1 a.m. Friday on Alligator Alley, after one of the cars allegedly went through a toll booth without paying.
