LONDON (Reuters) - Paul McCartney is to release a Beatles track unheard for 35 years as the soundtrack to a film montage of his late wife Linda's photographs, The Sunday Times said.
The 14-minute ``Carnival of Light,'' first recorded by the Beatles when they were making their Sgt. Pepper Album, had last been played at a London avant-garde festival in 1967.
Beatles producer George Martin was quoted by the paper as saying: ``It was one of those weird things. It was a kind of uncomposed, free-for-all melange of sound that went on.
``It was not considered worthy as issuing as a normal piece of Beatles music at the time.''
The paper said McCartney now planned to use it as the soundtrack to his ``photofilm'' of Linda's photos of the world's most famous pop group.
Hmmmmmm, doesn't sound like much of a forgotten gem to me.
Give me Strawberry Fields any day.
{sound of has been trying to resurrect dead career.}
mr. mccartney, please exit stage right.
I don't know about that. With tickets to his concerts going for $250 a pop and selling out in 17 minutes, I'd find it hard to classify him as a "has been".
And The Beatles are still making millions a year, more than 30 years after they broke up.
BTW I'm trying ( and failing so far) to put together a flash movie with the Dome of the Rock as a backdrop. While the towel heads kneel, a small plane passes overhead. Out comes a lone parachute.
As it lands " A Little Less Conversation, A Little More Action" starts to play and the jumper whisks off his middle east garb to reveal ELVIS.
He's wearing sunglasses along with that white jumpsuit with the multi-colored eagles front and back.
After gyrating a few times and mezmerizing the towel heads, he pulls a guitar from his back. But it's not a guitar, it's really an automatic weapon and he sprays the crowd with bullets.
As they fall he stops, pulls a bomb and tosses it into the Mosque. He yells "Hunka Hunka Burning Love Baby", disappears and the Mosque blows up.
Insensitive? Yup, like I could care baby!
