Foxnews just reported that someone believe that the Iraq's have outfitted some of their old soviet aircraft as Pilotless Drones and equipped to spray biological or chemical agents . Range some 600 miles! Anyone else hear this?
To: Ferris
If they wanted the dossier to link Osama with the Easter Bunny, then that's what the report would have stated... Never underestimate the power of propaganda, or your government's ease of using it on you...It's propaganda when using vague generalities or accusing fictional characters.
It said Abu Zubair was an Iraqi intelligence officer trained in using terror against the Kurds in Northern Iraq. Rafid Fatah also worked with him against the Kurds, the paper added.
When names are named it's called an indictment.

GWB mention at one point in his UN speech Thursday that "Al-Queda was in Iraq" but nothing about the connection between bin Laden and Hussein.I guess he wanted to leave something for Blair!
To: rwfromkansas
re: #30 post: I'm thinking exactly the same thing! I agree 100% with you!
To: RobFromGa
Oh, please wake up. This is EXACTLY what he did with Al Queda if you remember. Bush never NEVER made the Al Queeda case. He let Tony do it with a 30 page document. I can still remember our upset press corps bitching endlessly about how they had to read everything in the English papers and couldn't create any "news" of their own. This is brilliant, again. Our socialist congress critters and communist press can NOT ataack Bush in any way and, yet, the Bush case gets made.

Just heard on FoxNews Channel that Blair says that his dossier will link Saddam Hussein
to Usama Bin Laden terror planning and training. CHECKMATE.
Relevant factoids I've heard in the last couple of days.
1. Osama bin Laden visited Sadaam in Iraq sometime in the mid-1990s. This is the
contention of "Sadaam's former mistress" whose interview with Claire Shipman
took up about half of ABC's Primetime on Thursday night.
I don't know what sort of auxiliary fact-checking has been done regarding this
report.
2. Sadaam has bankrolled the current Palestinian intifada to the tune of
$30 MILLION. I heard this last night, I believe on the CBS Evening News.
I knew Sadaam was handing out those $5K to $25K booby prizes to the Palestinian
suicide/homicide bombers...but $30 MILLION will buy a LOT of trouble.
Additionally, I'm happy Blair will put out this dossier with this Sadaam-Osama link info.
Earlier this spring a writer (New Yorker? New York Times Mag?) put out a long
article that cited lots of tenuous evidence that Sadaam had been busy making friends with
anyone he could...including Islamic fundamentalists like Osama since the end of
The Gulf War.
It will be interesting to see how Blair's/Britain's report will flesh this out.

I do wonder why President George W. Bush didn't ever mention a specific link between
Saddam and UBL. Maybe he was waiting for the right time to play the card?
Steve McQueen once gave some sage advice to a novice actor who'd landed a leading role.
It was to the effect of "...let the other actors do most of the speaking if you can,
that way people will pay more attention to the few words you say".
I think Dubya has realized that he needs to say enough and not too much.
And now he's going to let the rest of the actors take it from here.
Let's see the US mainstream media try to skewer Tony Blair...it ain't gonna' happen.

Saddam challenged Bush to a game of Chicken. That game is still in play, and the end result is still up in the air.
But what amazes me is the liberal media and the Dumbocraps thinking they could win a poker game with Bush. I mean, they had to know, he was holding all the aces. That's simple logic. How dumb can you get?

Mr. Blair was with us on the first night. I know that he is a patriot for both Britain and USA and I have a good feeling for him as a friend of America.
God Bless America and Hail Britainia!

"British Prime Minister Tony Blair's promised dossier on Iraq is to reveal that Saddam Hussein trained some of Osama bin Laden's key lieutenants, The Sunday Telegraph reported. "The dossier is also expected to disclose that the Iraqi leader has reconstructed three plants to manufacture biological and chemical weapons, it said."
The opening scene for Act II? Per...
The Democrats In A Box [Sorry, Tommy]
"The U.N. speech, says a national security official with knowledge of administration planning, "wasn't our first shot, it wasn't our last shot, and it certainly wasn't our best shot" at making the case against Saddam Hussein. "Put it this way--the U.N. speech was the first act of a three-act play. If [Democrats] are bailing on their opposition to the president now, wait until people see Act II, when there will be new revelations about just how serious a threat we face."
I'm guessing the curtain comes down on Act III shortly after the formal "opening of hostilities"...

I do wonder why President George W. Bush didn't ever mention a specific link between Saddam and UBL. Actually, Bush has already gone further than that. He has linked Saddam to Mohammed Atta, operational commander of the 9-11 mission. But, so far, he hasn't done that very loudly, knowing full well that the liberal news media will leave it alone as long as they can. This is by design.
From the latest Weekly Standard:
"The U.N. speech, says a national security official with knowledge of administration planning, 'wasn't our first shot, it wasn't our last shot, and it certainly wasn't our best shot' at making the case against Saddam Hussein. 'Put it this way--the U.N. speech was the first act of a three-act play. If [Democrats] are bailing on their opposition to the president now, wait until people see Act II, when there will be new revelations about just how serious a threat we face.'"
So, now we know that Act II will involve directly linking Saddam to the 9-11 attack. Any guesses what Act II might be? What else does Bush have up his sleeve? (
One possible clue)

Yes, getting the left-winger Tony Blair to announce this is a brilliant strategy, both internationally and in the U.S. and Britian. How do the liberals go about discrediting one of their own? Blair is supposedly a respected member of the international community (because he's so liberal) but maybe after this he won't be as respected. Perhaps the liberals will even turn on him. I'm not a fan of Blair's liberalism but I do respect his support of America, which is apparently an unpopular view in England (if the leftist media can be believed).

I a bit slow on the uptake. Blair didn't win me over until a few days after 9-11.
It was when he asked that rhetorical question of "do you doubt that if the terrorists
could have killed 70,000 instead of maybe 7,000 that they would have hesitated?".
(or words to that effect)
When I heard Blair was going to release this dossier and that he told
a bunch of the British trade-unionists that Britain was going to back the USA...
I don't know if I was more happy or more freaked out.
I can't help wondering if Blair just didn't play "good buddy" to Clinton because
he (Blair) knew he was such a popular President...and maybe is happy to have a
MAN in the office of The Presidency in these times.

However they went on to say that the previous report about this indicated that it was MIG 23's that they had converted. They went on to say that it was not MIG 23's but some other aircraft. I am chuckling because I remember all the Iraqi Migs that came up in the early days of the Gulf War (not to engage our fighters and bombers but to make a run for Iran) If I was Saddam and had Air Force Pilots like he does, I would convert all my planes to remote control drones.
