I must have heard the same report as you did and thought gee that is old news. However they went on to say that the previous report about this indicated that it was MIG 23's that they had converted. They went on to say that it was not MIG 23's but some other aircraft. I am chuckling because I remember all the Iraqi Migs that came up in the early days of the Gulf War (not to engage our fighters and bombers but to make a run for Iran) If I was Saddam and had Air Force Pilots like he does, I would convert all my planes to remote control drones.

They are not Migs. They are old trainer jets, L-29s.
