Anyone have a pic of Beckel and Clinton together. Imagine the germs on those two.

I don't have a picture of Beckel and Clinton, but this is an interesting reminder of just who Beckel is.

" "Forget The Chads...Intimidate The Electors

Realizing he lost the battle of the chads as one court decision after another weighed against him, the Gore strategy has shifted from the very public, "I want every vote to be counted," to the very surreptitious attempts to either intimidate or entice the electors in the Bush-won States which do not have laws mandating that the electors vote for the candidates elected by the citizens of those States.

As it stands at this moment, George W. Bush has 271 electorial votes. Al Gore has 267. If three of Bush's electors cast their ballots for Al Gore instead, Gore would theoretically win the election with 270 votes to Bush's 268...just enough to claim the office of the President of the United States.

At least, that appears to be the strategy according to Gore strategist Bob Beckel (Walter Mondale's former campaign manager). And, as shocking as it may seem, Beckel has not been silent about what he is doing--proving once again that in the eyes of a Democrat, there is nothing wrong with stealing if you get what you want.

Beckel, when asked by the media after rumors that he had authorized deep background checks on electors in the Bush-won States, boasted that he was "...trying to kidnap these electors in States that Bush won that are not legally bound to him, and that have a right to vote how they want." In other words, the Gore hustle for votes continues. When the Washington Times contacted Gore, the Vice President said he would "...not accept their votes under those circumstances." Of course, Gore's actions belie his words.

At least one Florida elector has already from Beckel, and shudders at the sound of his name. Marsha Nippert said when she came home on election night, she found her phone lines cut. She said she has already received faxes, phone calls and letters with threatening tones saying she is not being patriotic if she is not willing to switch.

The same thing is happening to Berta Moralejo. She is getting up to 25 calls a day, and she is being flooded with mail from all over Florida asking her to "do the right thing" and cast her Bush-committed vote for Al Gore. Surprisingly, all of the letters Moralejo gets are from people who claim to be "independents," not Democrats. In reality, they are Gore campaign workers.

While the Democrats think Berta Moralejo is just a little old lady they can intimidate, Berta is a tough old bird who was raised in communist Cuba and escaped in 1962. In 1998 she worked on Jeb Bush's campaign when he finally defeated the Democratic machine that controlled all of the big-vote voting precincts in southeastern Florida.

Once again, Al Gore and his "steal the vote" thugs have crossed the line, proving that Gore will do anything to steal the White House...and there is not one stolen vote he will not accept since he is convinced he was destined for greatness."
