I don't think it is Chelsea who looks bad in this, it is us. If I had recently converted some new FRiends to come to Free Republic, this is the kind of thread I hope they wouldn't see first.

You are absolutely correct. Any conservative interested in gaining support from those who are not especially political should actively discourage this kind of thread.

Good point deserved repeating. With this kind of thread we are repelling exactly the folks we need to attract to gain a majority.
