Pretty amazing wasn't it.
And IIRC, ABC Evening News was the only place I saw the little kid run up from
the crowd and jump into Dubya's arms...insistent on a hug from the President.
Only to be followed by his brother on the same mission a few seconds later.
(This was at the Pennsylvania observance.)

I can't remember which network, but one reporter at the Penn. site said that
some of members of the victim's (Heroes, really) families, even if they
don't agree politically with Dubya, were really touched by the time he spent talking and
connecting with them at the human level.
(that's my paraphrase of the reporter's comment)

It was also interesting to hear The Michael Medved Show yesterday. He played the
major "evening news" lead-ins from 9-10-01
(aka "the day before").
He did give Jennings credit as he mentioned Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden that
evening due to the assassination of Massoud (Norther Alliance leader),
while Rather and Brokaw didn't cover it.

I think my favorite "zinger" was when Dubya responded to Scott Pelly's "you don't have
Osama bin Laden" with "How do you know that?" (on Sixty Minutes II).
and Dubya following up with "well, he ain't leading too many parades" in commenting
on the activities of Osama.
