Remember, good 'ol Peter is Canadian, not American. His allegiance is to the "world", not America.
It appears that none of his personal values match traditional American values either. Is it any wonder that in moments of stress his true colors shine through?
The only solution I can think of is simply not to watch the "News According to Jennings".

Jennings makes my blood boil. Also, on September 11, in his excitement, George Stuffinenvelopes slipped and made the comment about the situation room and Flight 800 being shot down.

His exact words may not have been "our" pPresident, but we all knew/know what he was trying to do. Make George Bush out to be a chicken and that has been the farthest from the truth.
The interesting thing about the newscasters and newscastresses is that no one ever holds them accountable or better yet, no one has any means by which to hold them accountable. Remember how everyone in the "hallowed" media chastized Bush for calling Adam Clymer what he truly was?

On O'Reilly's radio show broadcast on Tuesday he mentioned a study that had just been published by a reputable outfit that indicated that when dealing with Bush's treatment of Iraq, 80% of ABC comments/pieces over the last six months or so had been negative.
Jennings is indeed our Lord Haw-Haw.

snippets of their own spew. You are so right and it's the reason I quit watching the major news networks. I can't stand Peter Jennings when he talks and closes his eyes, then flutters his eyelids. And isn't it Rather that whistles through his false teeth. I can't stand that!!!

Peter Jennings blathering on about how in a time of crisis we need to see our President. It still raised the bile in my throat when I think of it.I saw it too, and had the same reaction. Here was extreme tragedy happening at the moment and Jennings had to work his Red underwear into a knot over where was Bush. As former air defense, I knew where the CIC was and what he was doing. Unlike Clinton, the CIC was in the Command Post, wherever that was and doing his duty as circumstance demanded.
Let's face it, it will be a day of celebration when Jennings is off the air, for good.

Remember how everyone in the "hallowed" media chastized Bush for calling Adam Clymer what he truly was? Fortunately, it didn't hurt President Bush.
However, good 'ol Adam has a new legacy: When I point out that Jennings is a "Clymer", you know exactly what I mean!
It's part of a developing new vocabulary that won't make you sound overly crude in polite company. Monica has made a contribution, too. Hope their contribution to the culture lasts a longggg time. They earned it.

One of the great war movies I can recall was a Clark Gable effort called Command Decision. This one was not your action movie. It dealt with the politics and strategy of those that need to pull the strings. Needless to say Gable played the "less than popular" echelon guy that was charged with making the really hard decisions.
There was a line in that movie that I'll never forget. It came at a time when the true blow-hard (Jennings type) threatened to drop the hammer on Gable. A third party (former quisling type) who was the nephew of the blow hard screamed at the blow hard to "Shut up!" He ended the sililoquy with the admonition, "Don't you know some men have to do more than just talk?" That advice would fit well on Jennings, but he is too stupid to hear it. That's why I put him in the same class as Jerry Springer i.e. to be ignored at all times.

We joke about this new vocabulary, but in all seriousness, where do we go when we have a beef with the media? Sure we have talk radio and Fox News, but how many people's thoughts are affected by the not so subtle comments of the left leaning media? How do we measure their impact? Why should it even be allowed to continue?

Perhaps we can make him "Lord Haw-Haw-Eh?"

Earlier today, CBS elected to "politicize" or at least substantially editorialize what had otherwise been a decent 9/11 memorial by talking about an attack on Iraq. And "Catty" Katie Couric, in a overtly snide tone said, (paraphrasing) "President Bush will make his first trip to Shanksville PA today." OK Catty, maybe this will be his first trip to Shanksville, but can't you for one day put away your claws and let us remember and memorialize those lost without hearing your bitchy attitude?
You see it's not always what they(the media) say but how they say it. Even when they speak the truth their facial expressions, tone or emphasis on certain words give away their bias.

Amen to that and Katie Couric is the master at the snide, cynical comment.
Hey, on a separate note, I heard a clip of GWB today from last year talking about the policeman's badge he carried (remember that quote to Congress?). Any idea if he still carries that badge?

(pardon the expression)

Oh yea and one other thing, I will never, never, never forget that bitch (sorry about the swear) Hillary harumphing and rolling her eyes during George W's speech to Congress. She was apalling and disgusting!!!

I was flipping channel and saw ABC repeating that day with Jennings implying that Bush was a coward and an inexperienced President.
I don't watch ANYTHING on ABC. Haven't for the last couple of years. I'm writing a letter to ABC about repeating this disqusting broadcast by Jennings.

I will never forgive Ashwari's boyfriend in 1994 --- the electorate had a temper tantrum.
