A good letter.
But, how can this be viewed in light of the fact that the fanatic, fundamentalist Wahhabism which generated all these actions originated in, and controls, the Islamic faith in Saudi Arabia?
I still think the House of Saud is operating on a tightrope.
They want good relations with the U.S. in order to have a market for the oil which keeps them wealthy and provides a military support system against predatory Islamic powers in the region like Iraq.
Simultaneously, they must control, pacify, and appease the Wahhabist extremists which put their family in power in the first place and who control education, religion and public opinion in Saudi Arabia. These are the same people who created, supported, and applauded the World Trade Center terrorists, the terrorists who attacked out ship, attacked the marine barracks years ago, and continue to wage a declared war against western civilization in general and the U.S. particular.
I sincerely believe the House of Saud has a very limited life expectancy and will eventually collapse, overthrown by the same Wahhabist fanatics who control popular opinion in the Kingdom.

Correct.
Since the House of Saud is doomed no matter what we do, and since the only way to influence what comes after is occupation, I say, let's get at it.
I would occupy all of former Ottoman Arabia, dissolve the "nations" created by the British and the French, educate, de-Wahabify, and democratize the population, and pay for it with the oil.

I'm in total agreement with your analysis, and your last paragraph is the reality that the house of Saud has to deal with:
I sincerely believe the House of Saud has a very limited life expectancy and will eventually collapse, overthrown by the same Wahhabist fanatics who control popular opinion in the Kingdom.
If the House of Saud doesn't eliminate the Wahhabi fanatics, the Wahhabi fanatics will destroy the house of Saud as we destroy the Wahhabi al Qaeda thugs around the globe.
I give the House of Saud a maximum of two years from now before they will be destroyed by the Wahhabis. Then, we will destroy the Wahhabis as we have destroyed their al Qaeda thugs around the world.
Thanks again for your well thought out reply!
