Kind of reminds me of the bubble memory stuff HP was working on a decade ago... What ever happened to that?

The advance could lead to immensely powerful and inexpensive computers capable of holding entire libraries of music and movies for the consumer Wow! Just what I've always wanted!

Seems to me I have read about it being used a lot more than we might think in very specialised applications (mostly military and hardened)
