Yet another unbiased report which lists Sununu's many weaknesses (fundraising, organization and a troubling voting record) and Smith's strengths (fundraising, organization, appeal to independents, and a 100% conservative voting record) which may score him an upset victory in today's supercharged state primary. This analysis also concludes that whoever wins the primary today will be statistically tied with Shaheen, a conclusion which is backed up by all recent polling data. So much for the myth of Senator Smith's unelectability. That was always Sununu's more RINO partisans main argument for electing Sununu. It was completely and totally bogus and false from day one and they knew it, but still they are ashamed to admit that they were wrong. The fact is that Smith motivates his core conservative supporters to get out the vote, while Sununu who has voted increasingly liberal during the past year, does not. That is why the primary election is absolutely in play today even if arrogant Sununu partisans here on FR refuse to admit it.

Are you on Smith's payroll or something?

Give it a rest. You don't get to vote, now or on Nov. 5. Some of us prefer Sununu, some of us prefer Smith.

Whomever wins, let's support the winner against the Democrat Shaheen.

I just voted for Senator Smith.

We will have to work harder against Shaheen if he wins today, no doubt about it. But John Sununu has already shown disturbing signs of "growing in office", which can only worsen if he is a Senator.

Don't forget Smith's appeal to us "single-issue Republicans" :-)

If he loses, Smith would be the first sitting Senator to lose his seat in a primary since Senator Alan Dixon lost to Carol Moseley-Braun in Illinois in 1992.

And would have the same catastrophic effect on the Senate, I might add.

If Smith wins the primary, some Republicans will quietly say the seat is lost, but we disagree with that analysis: the race will be a toss-up either way.

Huh, what do you know...seems that's what I've been saying all along, as the endless drumbeat of 'only Sununu can beat Shaheen' has droned on.

May the best man win...and tomorrow may every Republican begin to hammer the leftwing soon-to-be former Governor into the ground.
