"...To us, it's as if the map [showing an "Ancient Homeland of the Aztecs"] has lifted an oppressive aura of "suspicion" from the psyche of Mexicans/Central Americans -- populations that have been deemed to be illegitimate by some in U.S. society... Some readers are speaking of putting the map up as a billboard along the U.S./Mexican border that proclaims "Welcome to Your Ancestral Homeland."

Since the Celts were putatively originally from Anatolia in Turkey, I suppose this gives me the right to invade and re-settle Turkey. Anyone care to lay odds on how long I'll last before the Turkish Army will come after me?
But, since the Indo-European people(s) are supposedly originally from the neighborhood of Kiev, perhaps I should even go further back and try to take over the Ukraine.
Even better, since I prefer hotter weather anyways, and all those strange animals are kewl, I think I'll opt for Africa instead. After all, you can't go much further back than that, right?

It must be clear that the only people calling for the return of "Aztlan" are leftists. Mostly American leftists.
Mostly American leftist academics.
It must also be clear that leftists are clear on only one issue, and that is bringing down the US in its current form. The tools to do so do not need to be true, or logical, or historically reasonable, or intellectually consistent with anything else they claim to believe in.
