An excellent post by Yoe, MeeknMing. My only addition would be to correct the "8 yrs of control" statement.
The Democrats have controlled schools and our social services for FIFTY years.

You just posted one of my fondest dreams. LOL ! Lots on FreeRepublic.com have that dream, I think ! heh heh !

The Democrats have controlled schools and our social services for FIFTY years. So true ! Thanks.

Excellent article. As a person of American Indian heritage, I would feel used if the Dems treated me (as a race) this way.
They "single" out a group of people, playing into their emotions, rather than treating all people as equals.
The label "Democratic party", has become an oxymoron to the Contitutions requirement of "equal rights for all".

You've got that right....EVERY person...should be required to read Sowell. His book on basic economics is wonderful. He's the clearest writer, most rational and logical, that I've ever read. He's a genius, about economics and about the American culture. I read his biography, too. Learned that early on he was a Marxist scholar, but then he realized how unrealistic and destructive it was.

The funny thing is, the Democrats will figure out a "victim" group for you no matter who you are...elderly, disabled, crazy, maybe you just get headaches. You don't actually have to belong to a racial or ethnic minority (though, who doesn't have an ethnic?). The idea is to group us, and make us compete to see who's the most deserving "victims". Horowitz says the socialist ideal is group identity, no more individual autonomy for any of us in their design.

I see you too are a reader of Thomas Sowell. :o)
We love him. He is the most logical minded, intelligentsia we've ever read. Deserving of, and an asset to the distinguished "Hoover Institute".

A very pretentious woman once said that Sowell and Walter Williams are "fuddy-duddys". I nearly fell I was laughing so! She had no idea of the ignorance she was putting on display.
I love all his columns, too. During the L.A. riots, in 1992, I think, he wrote that the rioters were mainly gang members taking advantage of the lefty media gasping day after day "The blacks will surely riot!' Sowell said most blacks were cowering at home the same as most whites. Tammy Bruce, author of "The New Thought Police", who was living in L.A. at the time, said the same thing in her book. And later analysis of the police reports as well as independent investigations said the same thing. The lefty media has never acknowledged this.

The lefty media has never acknowledged this. I'm "so" not surprized! The media and the DEMoRATS have NOT been "friends" of Black people. The problem with that, is that not only do they "keep" a race on the "political plantation", but they stifle those peoples abilities that were given by God. Their minds excelling, their successes and ability to succeed are PROHIBITED by the Media. I don't think "some" people WANT the Black people to succeed, because then they would LOSE their votes. Hard to control them then.
So with the MEDIA involved, the hard working, intelligent, wonderful people like Sowell (I know he doesn't want to be a television personality, and I respect that, but there are a ton of others who are brilliant who could/would if given a chance be more publicly accessable!) don't make it on TV. But the radical "poor me" Panthers and other racist hate groups do.
Sad commentary, huh?
The Dems and the media KNOW darn well, that a person cannot become wealthy and prosperous living off welfare, or in substandard dangerous neighborhoods. (Admittedly, some people get out of those situations, but it is from hard work and perseverence).
Anywho.. LOVE Sowell. More people should listen to him, and in fact, I think he should be mandatory reading in schools!! :o)
