Sounds like to me that an employee has it in for one of the doctors. Restraining a dog is all in a day's work and some dogs need attention getters because they are so unruly. There is more to this story just like the last one that showed here on the FR about the so called "malpractice". I called the clinic in Illinois for their take on the "malpractice" and the poster had a hard on against the clinic and used a national forum to air his differences. A lot of bleeding heart owners would change their attitudes if they had to handle some of the idiots we see in a day's work. Albeit, most are pleasant and that makes the job rewarding.

A lot of idiots shouldn't be allowed to own pets.

There's a difference between restraint and rage. This guy doesn't belong around animals or small children.

It's obvious that neither of you, along with several others who posted on this thread, know what an Italian Greyhound is. They are very small, delicate dogs. The breed is a member of the Toy Group that also includes Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians and the like. They are about 13 to 15 inches tall at the shoulder, but narrow-bodied. They look like a mild summer breeze would knock them over. For those who are interested, here's a link to
the AKC's page for the breed.
Anyone who would hit a small, defenseless animal like an IG for any reason is a vicious, out-of-control SOB who could easily move on to taking his rage out on other people. It's even worse for a vet to do it. He is being paid for his services by a client who entrusts their animal to his care. And yes, a man striking such a small animal in anger could easily kill it. If he's of average size, he might weigh around 170 pounds. An IG weighs in the range of 10-15 pounds or so soaking wet. This vet is a scumbag of the first rank. So's his partner for excusing the SOB's conduct. They both ought to lose their licenses. It's a good thing I live on the opposite side of the country from those d#ckheads, because I'd be raising a ruckus about getting their licenses pulled!!!!
