How are the 229 and 239 for weight?

The 239 is 25 ounces unloaded, and the 229 is 28 ounces unloaded, although it feels top-heavy.

Actually, I prefer a 9mm since that's what I'm used to.

It sounds like the 239 may be a better choice then... it's lighter and smaller than the 229. It's very accurate and easy to put back on target after firing a round.

I was just out on the web finding the very same specs that you posted!

I wouldn't be gaining much for weight. My custom carry weighs approximately the same. I'm going to have to handle the Sig and see how it feels vs. the Beretta. Unless I can find a comparable-performing gun in composite, I have a feeling I may have to stick with the Beretta. I have had it for a year and a half and it has become another "appendage."

The closest I have come is the Walther P99. It is much lighter due to being mainly composite, but I'm not comfortable with the fact that its only safety feature is the fact that the first pull is double-action. As a target pistol, it is highly accurate and a joy to fire.

Thanks again for your input!
