IDEA MAN: "Boy, I wish I'd thought up shooting pop stars into outer space," says my pal, The Idea Man. "Only $20 million US to get rid of NSYNC's Lance Bass? Cheap at twice the price."

"His Russian space shot is probably off," I grump. "No chequee, no tripee."

"They picked the wrong guy," shrugs Idea Man. "You could raise $20 million in an afternoon to shoot Mariah Carey into space. Michael Jackson, any of those smug kids on American Idol. Cash in the kitty, buddy. Light the torch. Goodbye, Mary Lou. Never see 'em again."

"I think it's a round trip," I venture.

"WHAT?" Idea Man barks. "You tellin' me the Ruskies take annoying celebs into space, then bring 'em back? Where's the payoff in that? They got the thing backwards. A good promoter raises $100 million to put O.J. into outer space, and leaves him there. Same with Adam Sandler."
