Good. Now if we can only get Norman Mineta fired, everything will be perfect. By the way, why does it cost $900 million to send pilots to target practice? Anybody know?

Jerk around, jerk around, jerk around. I hope all the people that are holding this up are prepared to wear the blood of possibly thousands of innocents on their hands. You won't throw these Islamic animals out of our country and you're dragging your feet on this. Fool me once-shame on you, fool me twice, shame on Congress and the Admin. GET MOVING before anything else bad AND NO LOCKBOXES!

Oh this just burns me up.

the administration suggested a "detailed, effective" training program be designed from scratch and tested before an estimated 85,000 pilots are allowed to carry weapons

What the hell is wrong with these people??

Police and military organizations have been designing detailed and effective training programs for the use of firearms for centuries. The notion of designing another one from scratch serves no purposes other than waste and obstructionism.

"``If there is to be responsible legislation establishing a program to allow guns in the cockpit, it must address the numerous safety, security, cost and operational issues,'' Loy wrote. "

These idiots can't help but to turn it into a massive intrusive bureaucracy.

Why not treat them like cops? Give them a gun, a bag of bullets, a basement range to visit now and then to catch up on their training, and hope they don't forgetfully leave their pistol on the airport bar now and then.

The heads of 21 airlines, which oppose the measure, sent a letter to each senator Thursday saying they wanted to discuss the idea of arming pilots with Congress and the administration
=========================
They're just afraid of going into labor negotiations with pilots who're packing heat.

No! No! No! We want to arm them with handguns, not with Congress and the administration!
