The boos and jeers began when Powell criticized the government of Zimbabwe for exacerbating the food crisis in that country and pushing millions of people to the brink of starvation.
Oh, so let me get this straight. The protesters think Mugabe's policies are feeding Africans? Or are they just happy that everything's being blamed on the white man?

These are the people who will never be satified. They are career misanthropes.

Hmm....wonder why Bush did not show up with all these green terrorists in the audiance?

Neither. What they really want is to see the world pushed back into the stone age. And to do that, you have to kill off half the world's population. Sorry, but that's the price of "regress".

The latter, I think.
To: tom paine 2
Many Freepers would do the same.

I think Powell should at least be given credit for going down there and taking the heat for the administration from the enviro Nazi's. I may disagree with his stances on several issues, but he is still faithfully serving the administration, and thus our country.

The liberal media, the Euroweenies and the usual suspects, have been trying to convince us that if only Bush would stop his 'unilateralism' and become like Colin Powell, then the rest of the world love would love us. Weeelllll, here we have Powell being heckled and jeered by the rest of the world. "Oops, there goes another liberal idea down".
Bush just this minute said on tv that the credibility of "the rest of the world" is at stake. LOVE IT! Turn around their bullcrap and shove it in their faces.

Let's just cut off our financial aid altogether. Maybe they will start courting us.

I agree with you. Also, since the enviro-wackos think poverty is good and seemingly want to starve 90% of humanity, being booed by them many well be a plus!

Actually, these whackos and perverts booing and jeering Powell is newsworthy. I would like to see a lot more reporting which shows who these people are and what they are up to. Such reporting would sure help Dubya and the Republicans in the people's perception. That is why the networks and the "big" papers are giving it so little coverage.

The wealthy nations have their heads in the sand, Sen. Bob Brown from Australias Greens party said. No, it's the third world nations that have their head in the sand. They don't realize they are the problem.

BINGO. Colon Bowell should also resign.

What they really want is to see the world pushed back into the stone age. I don't think that's far enough. Weren't humans hunting and killing animals in the stone age?

Over time, I am becoming convinced that the environazi's really don't care. Oh, they love to ask for AIDs money and talk about starving children, but they really don't care. From what I have read of their writings, they are far more concerned over wolves or rhinos or frogs rather than the children. Just look at how the eradication of DDT has caused the death of millions of children from malaria, for the sake of bird's eggs. (And that wasn't really proven anyway.)
Nope, get rid of most of those pesky people, so the earth can be pristine and wild again. Remember, electricity is our enemy. Let them sit around in loincloths playing with rocks. And if they die of disease, what the hey, it's natural.

Excellent point. Also not to be reported by the mainstream media is the fact that, wrt the stances that angered ideological environmentalists most (e.g.
energy policy) the United States was siding WITH developing nations.

Since Powell is black, the environmentalist scum were obviously racists.Isn't that how the leftist melodrama always goes?
