Thank you for the ping and information.I will never forget what it was like when we used to live in Malibu, Cal. with the fires and then mudslides with the rain. The fires 300 feet high so close to us. So very scary. Thanks again dear friend. Prayers the people there will be safe and their homes ok too.

I remember the Malibu fires. Sureal. I lived in Santa Monica in the late 60's and apartments didn't have air conditioning. The summer heat sent people to the beaches for relief. And sitting on the sand, looking north you could see those 300 foot flames in Malibu. And the pictures of all the horses and dogs who made it to the smokey Malibu oceanside. My supervisor's home was burned.

I am sending prayers too.

I was a kid in Malibu at the time of the '72 fire. It came within a half mile of the elementary school, where they kept us out in the playground before sending us home. Home was threatened too, more evacuations through the fire lines.

Ten years later that area burned all thr way through, including our old house.

Fire is a part of the landscape there.
