(OMED: Brad loves old motorcycles. See his article on this subject. This summer he took a brief sabbatical from his job in the electronics industry and headed for the track to experience competition. This is the letter he sent about it.)
Took the bike to practice night at Castle Rock, Friday evening. She ran great, got lots of compliments on it -- many of the racers have heard of BSA but had never actually seen one on the track. I wasn't expecting so much attention over the bike and became slightly overwhelmed, so consequently was reduced to mumbling "thanks" and not much more...(snip)

Cool story. I had a '63 Beezer GoldStar Twin 650cc while in high school that I kept at a friends garage, not far from my home. I had Glee Club for 6th period and used to ditch it often to cruise on my Beezer.I still passed though, as I was the only one in school that could play the bagpipe and the glee clubs teachers name was McTaggart!
Growing up is hard to do. I'm now getting my '68 HD ready for the HD 100 B'Day Bash.

I was a limey bike nut in the 60's. Had an old BSA 500 one-lunger, several Triumphs, Matchless's, AJS's, etc.

I always like the Goldstar thumper and the Norton Manx...
I'v owned 20+ motorcycles and the only Limey bike was an old 500cc MSS Velocette with a spare engine, it needed some restoration work, I didn't have time to do it, so I gave it to a good friend who restored it and still had it, the last time I heard...that was back in the 70's...
My bikes have been American, Japanese and German...got my first one in '49 and still have one... :o)
