Jacko's MTV 'award' all a misunderstanding

Michael Jackson was left embarrassed yesterday after he proudly accepted a non-existent award for the Artist of the Millennium in front of millions of television viewers.

Confusion arose when Britney Spears introduced the singer on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York to present him with a cake to celebrate his 44th birthday.

The Pop Princess said that, for her, Jackson was the artist of the millennium.

But Jackson took her words to mean he was being honoured as the greatest singer of the last 1,000 years.

The star even gave an emotional acceptance speech to the celebrity packed audience at Radio City Music Hall, which was broadcast live across the United States.

"When I was a little boy growing up in Indiana if someone told me I'd be getting the Artist of the Millennium award, I'd never have believed it," he said.

Jackson went on to thank God, his parents and the magician David Blaine.

MTV said it was all "a bit of a misunderstanding".

"There is no such award as the Artist of the Millennium. I think some wires got crossed," said a spokeswoman for the network.

To complete his embarrassment, Jackson was ridiculed by the show's host, American comedian Jimmy Fallon.

"Michael Jackson looks great for 44," he said as the singer left the stage.

"Between you and me, I think he's had some work done."

Jacko loses it more and more every day...

Why the British tabloids have called him "Wacko Jacko" for years. ;)

I don't know which is more faggy; the crystal wall sconce on his chest, or the gold kneepads/shin protectors. I guess he needs the latter to keep little boys (aka, potential victims) from kicking him in the shins.

I can imagine! He seems to like going to Europe and Asia to really get weird. I can just imagine him scouring the streets and back alleys of London, looking for some little boy.

When eminent biologist and author Lewis Thomas was asked what message he would choose to send from Earth into outer space in the Voyager spacecraft, he answered, "I would send the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach." After a pause, he added, "But that would be boasting."

:o)

With his luck he'd run into some Millwall supporters...and then you'd never find the remains, except for some plastic lips found floating in the Thames.

the gold kneepads/shin protectors.

,,, I guess it's standard occupational protective gear in the electrified merriment room at the ranch.

Just think of what type of person it takes to still be a fan of Michael's. Also, to think that he got a standing ovation! It is sickening.

Couldn't David Blaine have just waved a wand or something to have an award appear and save Michael all that embarrassment?

Isn't MJ's prolific use of his "wand" the very thing that got him in trouble in the first place?

Michael Jackson was left embarrassed yesterday ...

Embarrassed? If he was capable of embarrassment he wouldn't be Michael Jackson.

Jacko just *is* an embarrassment. I've always thought it was such a shame, too. He was pretty talented in his younger years and then started wasting it on his weirdness.
Now, he's just a washed up freak.
