Words don't come easy, Your Honor. This whole process has been something that has been so surreal. I have heard a lot of my family today. I have heard from both sides. I feel for both sides. I have heard a lot of things that -- a lot of people said a lot of nice things about me.

Before he was sentenced, the press referred to him as "a Kennedy cousin."
Immediately after the sentencing, ABC called him a "distant Kennedy relative."
He's a FIRST COUSIN to Ethel's kids and her nephew; that's all.

For the life of me, I couldn't understand the gratuitous slaps at his ex-wife. I mean, she is the woman who is going to have custody of that kid while he's in prison. The woman that would be driving the kid to see him.
The only thing I could figure is that the family might be trying to get custody of him??

That's right. His dad is or was the brother of Ethel K. He is NOT Kennedy. Guess the Kennedy name didn't help much this time and thank God for that. Now young Martha Moxley can rest in peace and her mother can feel that there truly is justice in the world. As for Skakel's statement or speech or whatever you want to call it...it was disgraceful and he should be ashamed. However, when you have no shame how can you feel ashamed?
To: cubreporter
His last name isn't Kennedy, but he most certainly IS a member of the extended Kennedy clan. So deal with it.

I didn't know this was something I had to deal with. :)
All I was stating was that he is NOT a Kennedy. That's it in a nutshell. Am I sticking up for the Kennedy's? Heck no! But it doesn't change the fact his name is Skakel and Skakel alone.
The children are cousins by marriage only but there is NO blood relation between the Kennedys and Skakels.
I personally believe this person was guilty according to all the evidence presented...he TRIED to play on the Kennedy name (whatever that is) but that was it.

As for Skakel's statement or speech or whatever you want to call it...it was disgraceful and he should be ashamed. He was actually lying about his kid in a pathetic attempt to get sympathy. Check out again his "conversations" with his kid. That must be the most verbally adept three year old kid on the planet.

OK...OK...not gonna argue this anymore. While Skakel and Kennedys may be cousins it still does not make him a Kennedy. However, everyone has their own thoughts and opinions so this is the end of this subject for me. :)

While Skakel and Kennedys may be cousins it still does not make him a Kennedy. I didn't say it did. All I am saying is that he is the FIRST COUSIN of all of Bobby Kennedy's kids. They ALL have that evil Skakel blood coursing thru their veins.
