According to a website sponsored by Asia Travel Mart, bathrooms throughout Asia do not use modern flush mechanisms. According to the website, "A bucket and ladle serve an integral role in both bathing and toiletry."

Having lived in Asia for 5 years, I can honestly say that a bucket and ladle are luxuries in many places. More often, a stinkin' hole in the floor, with two foot pads on either side is the norm.

Quite a disgusting image first thing in the morning. What part of Asia?

Just got to love those bombsight toilets.

My first one was at a power station in Taiwan. God Bless Thomas Crapper, even if he is an urban legend.
