Here in Taiwan, I'm hearing reports on BBC about some remarks by Ken Adelman. Can't find a news story, however.

I'm spending a year in Pingtung Taiwan (that's a whole 'nuther subject!) and it's hard to track down some of the news stories I'm hearing on BBC. For example, BBC reports that Adelman blasted the Saudi Prince, saying that SA was a corrupt state and that the reason they opposed US attack on Iraq was that they feared a large democratic state in the region.

Of course, the BBC followed this up with a lengthy interview with some pinko from the Guardian, explaining how Bush is an idiot, etc.

Adelman's piece was in today's Wall Street Journal, and I believe it's up on their website, free to non-subscribers.

And thanks to all who supplied me a link. But after reading the WSJ piece, I don't find the remarks blasting the Saudis (and that was the thing that gave me so much joy upon waking up this morning!)

So, Libertina, tell me more about your Chinese experiences. I'm teaching at Pingtung Teachers College. So far, this city is much harder to navigate than Taipei, mainly because I have to drive everywhere!
