I really do not understand the anti-Elizabeth Dole feeling on this site. There are many Republican nominees for the Senate this cycle that are more liberal than here. Douglas Forester is one. Incumbents like Susan Collins, Ted Stevens, and maybe even Lamar Alexander. I do not think Elizabeth Dole's voting record would be much different than John Thune's or Norm Coleman's. These people must be the reason the NC GOP is in the sorry state that it is. How many times can you nominate Richard Vinroot and watch him lose before you people can figure out that you need to do something different???
