If the pansies on the the History channel can make it...so can you. I don't have much respect for the army after watching the show. The Marines looks like the place to go.

Where and when were you at FLW Mo??

You got lucky with that drill. The guys I had at FLW would have made my life a miserable hell or cheated to beat me.

Hey General, we are wondering if the PUs and SUs are the number done in 2 mins. or is it until you max out with no time limit.

Your numbers seem to indicate a 2 min. limit on all three events. Is this correct ?? Thanks.

With a mentality of scoring the minimum, you won't be in my fox hole. You'll be alone. What else will you just score the minimum on?

Of course radio operators, 31R10s, will have 11B10s to protect them, right?

Two min lim on PU, SU - the run is obviously longer. Also, I typed too fast; PU, SU, run. I used to stop before the last corner on the run, light up a smoke, and jog past the 1SG puffing at 12:00

Nope, it's not your eyes!

Ever seen a grown man go through "muscle failure" after 10 push-ups (muscle failure is where you start looking like a fish outta' water while trying to do a push-up)I have and it is actually amusing! In basic, out of 100 or so of us, at least 5 were "waived" on because they couldn't do the push-ups. Needless to say, most of these were "mommas boys" and had a hard time throughout basic and there after. Speaking of which, you out there "Private Owen from yipsafreakinglanti"?

To "max" the Pt test, here is what I done:

A.) Push-ups - just open your mouth a lot during basic and you 'll have no problem maxing them after a few weeks. I "pushed Oklahoma down to Texas" and back several times until I learned to BE QUIET AND KEEP MY SMART A$$ MOUTH SHUT. (Once I was at permanant duty, I could max the push-ups in just over 1 minute, and crank off 50 or so with either hand..aka one-handed).

B.) Set-ups - Every night before you go to sleep, crank out about 200, watch your weight (aka your beer belly) and you should have no problems.

C.) Run - I used to run every morning in PT, then once at my permanant duty station would run an extra 3-6 miles every evening right after last formation. I got myself down to a personal best 2 mile run time of just over 11 minutes (sure, I was dry heaving afterwards and your legs would lock up, but hey it was fun (sarcasm)). Also, in the run, set your pace with a buddy that you know is the running type and hang with him. Learn to get your "second wind" and set your pace in about the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile...the rest will come easy. Also, we had a 1st Sgt whom flew from Europe every year to run in the Boston Marathon. He would show up for PT every once in awhile and challenge anyone that could "hang with him" could have the day off. There were always 3-10 of us that would go with him and needless to say, after about 5-6 miles and on a pace of 6 minute miles,, we'd fall out and have to walk 5-6 more miles back to the berracks..the guy could run!

If all else fails, sign up for the Airforce or the Navy.

Good luck, now drop and give me 20...Diamond style you piece of dirt! HEhehehehe!

"Amry", maybe "AmWay"? Only a tough jaw and a weasle being are necessary.

Seriously, boot camp will teach and toughen you in any way they need. Have you seen the skinny, and fat, boys and girls entering boot camp? Unless you weight 82 pounds, you will do fine.

Had quite a few doughboys in my basic training company. They didn't remain that way long. They were made road guards.

It was '85.The Somoan Senior Drill was huge.He snatched me out of my foxhole on the rifle range with one arm.Said I pointed my M16 at him or something.I don't know what I did.I got booted off the range that day after I got tortured having to hold the rifle above my head in what seemed like hours. If I had wanted to shoot him,it would have been after that. The head games really sucked.
